After having bred persians along with my parents for many years I never thought I would find another such loving cat breed. Until after travelling round the world for a year and returning home I discovered Bengals. Having fed lion cubs, petted cheetahs and seen two beautiful Asian leopard cats whilst away, I can’t deny the wild element did appeal to me! However my initial concerns were, ‘just how wild are they’?!

Bengal temperaments are like any other domestic cat, they eat the same diet as my persians used to and are litter trained at the same age. They are also completely daft soppy and love a lap to sit on!

However behind that domestic cat lies elements of its ancestory. The wild traits appear in their quirky characters, a love for anything to do with water, including jumping in the sink and bath, a love of heights and climbing, carrying their kittens to new lairs or toys they think are a fresh kill!, they fetch and retrieve, have gorgeous meows and can be very talkative and vocal, beautiful markings and soft, silky coats. They are incredibly intelligent and inquisitive and have lots of energy, so they need plenty of attention to stop them getting bored.

Needless to say I haven’t looked back, I’m so in love with my cats and not a day goes by where I don’t look at them and think ‘you’re so beautiful, I’m so lucky to have you’.
